Additional information to assist you in growing succulents:
- Check your specific zone to determine the right variety for your environment.
- Succulents that tolerate colder and rainy conditions- species of Lewisia, Sempervivum (lots of color variations) and many Sedums.
- Creeping and spreading succulents- Sedum, Curio, and Senecio (between stepping stones but does not tolerate direct foot traffic), rock gardens and creating patterns in symmetrical gardens.
- Ceropegia and Graptopetalum are used for hanging baskets or cascading over stone embankments or retaining walls.
- Some other possibilities for containers- Lewisia ‘Sunset Strain,’ Echeveria and Dudleyas.
- For those with larger areas to fill, you can make a statement with Agave, Furcreaea, Opuntia and Aloe.
